Although this website covers the South West of Western Australia, our interest in trains does take us beyond the border. On this page we feature a few photos taken in New South Wales in 1998. It is also true to say that todays railways do not align with the state borders anymore, there is a mixing of loco fleets due to new owners or operation of trains interstate by the companies. We stayed at the Lithgow Caravan Park and found out how handy it was for observing train workings. Here we see 8105 heading west on a container train on 23 September 1998. As we travelled from Bathurst towards Lithgow we stopped near Locksley (I think) and 8163 was photographed heading west. My wife took this photo as I was taking slides. Taken on 21 September 1998. It was great to see quite a few locos at Lithgow with a number of different classes represented on 22 September 1998. |
